Gabicce Mare is a land to live and to discover

San Bartolo Nature Reserve

The Monte San Bartolo Regional Nature Reserve is one of the four reserves in the Marche region. The reserve was founded in 1994 and it is located near the Adriatic Coast in the province of Pesaro and Urbino. It stretches from Gabicce Mare, in the North, to Pesaro, in the South.

It is about 1600 ha which go along the coast between the towns of Pesaro and Gabicce Mare.

It was lauded by Dante Alighieri in his Divine Commedy for its windy promontory that was dangerous for sailors. These hills arise from the low and sandy beaches of Romagna and Marche and they offer a very narrow beach formed mostly by gravel deposits coming from the above cliffs. Their summits almost reach up to 200 m and from there you can enjoy a wide view over the coastline and the sea. The Park cliffs represent an unusual and extraordinary sea landscape for our low and sandy beaches.

There are many sport activities that you can practise in this wonderful area, like trekking, nordic walking, cycling, hiking and many more.
